Introducing the first two-channel wireless expression pedal system available to musicians and stage technicians in a professional environment. The purpose of this system is to allow the player the freedom to control expression parameters anywhere in any venue. No longer is the player bound to their pedalboard. The stage technician can easily deploy a network of multiple pedals throughout an entire venue for control by the player, the technician or even an engineer at FOH.
A web of networked pedals and/or nodes can be designed to fit the artists needs by way of mesh networking. Any wireless device can be added to a network to extend the range or even reinforce a network. This becomes especially important when navigating long distances such as remote stage in an arena or stadium where an artist might perform off stage or when there is a lot of RF unfriendly stage set and hidden offstage racks.
Having been a stage tech for nearly 30 years, I understand that running hundreds of feet of cable can foil an otherwise pleasurable day. Interacting with and relying upon other departments to help you run this cable can be frustrating for you and tedious for them. Another challenge we are often faced with is the minimal setup and teardown time the tech has during his or her day. This is especially true when faced with festival situations or playing between bands. Laying out and then collecting miles of cable during a fast changeover is stressful and often not practical. I still have lumps on my head to show for my efforts of running cable under a stage while my gear is being mishandled elsewhere by unknown "helpers." I also have done my share of taping down cables and mats to keep artists on their feet. Now, you can simply walk out on stage, pick up the pedal and walk away.
I am also keenly aware that any piece of equipment is not really a solution if it doesn't work effectively. I have been designing and testing this wireless technology on stage for some time now while working large outdoor stages and indoor arenas. Wireless equipment can pose some interesting challenges in today's production environment but it is used daily with great success. I have taken some steps to help avoid these challenges and I am confident that my Wireless Expression Pedal System and my Wireless MIDI solutions will make your job easier and your artists happy show after show.
Making these solutions for you by hand while sourcing as many U.S. made components or U.S. companies as feasibly possible is important to me. Using rechargeable batteries instead of the typical 9V will reduce waste for everyone and minimize cost to you.
Please feel free to contact me for an out-of-the-box or personally designed system. I look forward to helping you!
Respectfully,
Chad Zaemisch
